3T Thursday 2/11/2021

Hey hey Do Good Team! A lot of new faces here, so welcome everybody to 3T Thursdays! This week us Caffreys have been listening to the audiobook version of The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday. It is full of historical and present examples of great people who have created a legacy for themselves by embracing obstacles that they face.

We know that within this “do good” space there are countless hurdles and hindrances that you can come upon, but when we welcome the challenge and push head on into those stumbling blocks, those are often the defining moments that propel us into greatness!

1.“We forget: In life, it doesn’t matter what happens to you or where you came from. It matters what you do with what happens and what you’ve been given.”

We often can’t control our circumstances or experiences, but we do control how we adapt and respond to them.

2. “The obstacle in the path becomes the path. Never forget, within every obstacle is an opportunity to improve our condition.”

We can either become stronger, wiser, better with each moment or we can let them make us weaker, resistant and worse off.

3. “Just because your mind tells you that something is awful or evil or unplanned or otherwise negative, doesn’t mean you have to agree. Just because other people say that something is hopeless or crazy or broken to pieces doesn’t mean it is. We decide what story to tell ourselves.” What story do you want to tell yourself? You have the power to make it a good one!

This Week’s Episode - Twenty Years of Pivoting and Progression, with Louis Yuhasz the founder of Louie’s Kids, an organization that fights childhood obesity.

On Tuesday 2/16 we speak with the Founders and CEO of Grace Bridge and The Master Cares...dual organizations, one in Texas and one in Uganda, helping to build up communities in a multitude of ways. ALSO we are publishing another Backstage episode on Friday 2/19. TWO episodes next week! Excited to share more consistent content with you all.

With Love,

The Caffreys
